Showtime: US Trade Balance (1998-2021)

Going down, down, baby.

Trade is measured by comparing a nation's imports and exports. The difference between levels of goods and services imported to and those exported from the U.S. account for America's trade deficit.

In June 2020, the US trade deficit was over $50 billion.

By August 2021, it has spiked to $73.3 billion.
